If you missed the V-day one, here's your chance to join the fun! ----- On Saturday April 4th 2009, there will be massive pillow fights in cities around the world! Learn more at www.pillowfightday.c om WHY: All over the world, groups organize free, fun, all ages, non-commercial public events. From a massive Mobile Clubbing event in a London train station to a giant pillow fight near the Eiffel Tower in Paris to a subway party beneath the streets of Toronto, it is clear that the urban playground is growing around the world, a playful part of the larger public space movement. One of the goals is to make these unique happenings in public space become a significant part of popular culture, partially replacing passive, non-social, branded consumption experiences like watching television, and consciously rejecting the blight on our cities caused by the endless creep of advertising into public space. The goal is to create a global community of participants, not consumers, in a world where people are constantly organizing and attending these happenings in every major city in the world. So...who's up for a pillow fight? RULES: 1) Tell everyone you know about the PILLOW FIGHT!!!
2) This is a participation event. You must be willing to pillow fight in order to come.
3) Nothing in your pillow but pillow. (Rain plan: put your pillow in a plastic bag)
4) Be on time! A whistle will signal the start of the fight
5) Don't hit anyone with out a pillow (unless they want it)
6) Don't hit anyone with a camera

This meetup will be a tour of the Madre Grande Monastery in Dulzura; you can learn more about the Monastery by accessing their website, www.madregrande.org, or going to www.ic.org and searching for the Monastery; our tour guide is John Drais; there is no charge for this tour; please consider carpooling; also, there is a cafe about 2 miles from the Monastery where we can get something to eat after the tour, if you choose. Enjoy!

This is our monthly "4th weekend of the month" meetup. Some people can't do Sat, some not Sun, some not mornings, some not afternoons, so we'll rotate the choices... We will spend time building our community and connections. *** If anyone wants this meetup to be a different time or at a different place, please include it in your RSVP and we'll take it into consideration. For our meetups, we generally look forward to:
- getting to know each other; a nice, relaxed, fun time with this group
- supporting each others general efforts in IC (intentional communities)
- variety of conversation, including but not limited to topics on community (what it means, how to build it, physical forms, etc) See you all there! :) P.S.
