Good morning all.
The small cottage, and art studio, that are part of the Gardens of Madrigal, is coming avaliable for rent by the end of Sept., and I am beginning to take applications now. This is another oppportunity for someone ,who is open to creating a culture that is conducive to deeper friendships with each other and a williness to grow together, to join us. It has been my experience, over the last 10 years of owning this property, that many are interested in living here, however this place and the land is not for everyone and I know it will take some time to find that person and I am willing to do that. I also know that building a true Intentional Community takes time, understanding, and good, on going, communication to keep the balance of different tribes meeting their needs and yet still living with respect for the others that live on this land. We all talk about building community and yet we get discouraged, angry, start blaming when things go in a way that we least expect, instead of using the opportunity for growth. On a positive note however the people that have lived here normally stay for 3 to 7 years. So we must be doing something right. Madrigal is located in the village of La Mesa, 10 miles from the beach and within walking distance to trolley line and buses. In closing let me quote- “When you are inspired by some greater purpose, some extraordinary project, you will find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world”-Yoga Sultra. Is this cottage able to accommodate an adult and a child? Are there any common facilities available, such as printing presses or paper blenders/moulds?

Is this cottage able to accommodate an adult and a child? Are there any common facilities available, such as printing presses or paper blenders/moulds? Good morning. The cottage and art studio is really not set up for a child. The cottage is one small room ( 11x15) which has always been used as the bedroom. The art studio is big with lots of light/windows, and it has it's own bathroom however it is not attached, and although it has a sink and a small refrigerator it really is not set up as a proper kitchen. Although it is very beautiful here, especially the land, it can be more rustic than most people are use too. |
