This meeting will start with a Pot-Luck dinner. Bring food or drink as the spirit moves you. We'll have some stuff to take up the slack.
For this meeting, we'll start getting down to the nuts and bolts of Co-Housing project planning:
1) Promoting the group for other individuals that might be interested in joining us in community
2) Locating potential investors
3) Looking for possible areas for construction - either new or re-use
4) Researching options for grants, tax credits or other forms of support for specific environmental or community applications i.e. Solar, Straw Bale, High Efficiency lighting, Land Re-use/conversion, recycled building materials, etc. This may come from local, state or federal government, individual grants, corporate endowments or other.
5) Identifying opportunities to promote the project -
a) Increase awareness in the community
b) Look for political support
c) Media/publicity - press releases, meet the press options
6) Identify possible developers
7) Gathering resources, information and options
8) Other important stuff that I'm forgetting... :)
Anything else that we can do to help make this a reality?
Hope to see you there, and spread the word!
If you can look at the files that Dave and Vipol posted ( 1. an outline of our vision for what the cohousing project will look like, we discussed this and introduced each other at the first mtg. 2. The financial questionnaire.)
Please bring the questionnaire with you, we will be discussing costs and investing options. We are also actively looking for a Realtor that will be able to provide support on this large project. I hope to be looking at properties each Friday. I will bring information from her on properties to the next mtg. I have an email into Yalupa cohousing to see if I can tour it soon and get info on their architectual plans (their main architect Micheal Black died in July and I emailed his firm to see if we can help carry on his great legacy by working with some of his colleagues using their original blueprints-still waiting to hear.)
The quickest way to reach me is by cell phone (858) 531-5310 or the best email to reach me at is: [masked].
All the Best!
